Happy Halloween!

Have no worries, have no fear - the superhero Triplets are here. The streets of Mt Airy are being protected by some pint-sized super powers. Ellie shows off her power and her charm as she poses as Wonder Woman. Evan has more than just a smile when he is armed in his Batman suite. And Charlotte might be in pink, but she packs a mean punch as Super Girl. All together they make one powerful team of trouble stoppers!

Dressing up for Halloween is just one of the joys we are getting to experience as new parents. The coolest thing is each year we don't have to settle on one costume - we get to pick three.

"Batman"

"Super Girl"

"Wonder Woman"

The trips and I took our try at carving some pumpkins. I never knew they were so handy with knives. Here's how they turned out.

We don't celebrate Halloween we celebrate "Hazelween". Our church (Hazel Creek Baptist Church)has a festival every year on Halloween night. It is a great opportunity for kids and parents to not participate in traditional Halloween. We offer food, games, trunk-or-treat, and all the fun you can stand for one night. Here are some pictures of the triplets having fun at their first "Hazelween".

Scarecrows, hay and pumpkins make for a great picture.

Here's the crime fighters keeping peace in the crowd.

Ellie with Granddaddy in the cake walk. We had over 30 cakes this year in the cake walk. Most of them are Homemade by some of the best bakers around.

Here I am with Jessica Colbert and Jessica Beach. We were working the Face Painting and Balloon animal booth. I think I made over 100 balloon animals. All I was missing was my clown suit.

Ellie was amazed at the biggest baby there. I think she wanted to steal his bottle!

The babies did not get any candy this year but did come away with some apples for applesauce. Granny DeMore gave each of us a silver dollar. The weird thing is that they were all crazy when we got home. You would have thought they had been munching on candy all night. They just wanted to play all night long. We did let them stay up a little longer - trying to get them ready for the time change.

Jennifer is already trying to come up with a costume idea for next year. She wants to do a family theme - which means I will have to dress up.
Any Suggestions?

Box O' Babies

We go through boxes and boxes of diapers and have started a collection. They will come in handy when we need to box the babies up to go to college. They should be a hit freshman year with all diaper boxes. The boxes also convert into a great toy. Some people have told us that kids love the cheap toys like boxes, keys, pots and pans. Look at these happy faces.

Ellie

Charlotte

Evan

We wanted to see if they all fit - and they did. Just a little cramped but they love to get close to each other.

Today is our 9 year wedding anniversary! Wow - really 9 years. We have been together for a total of 19 years. We typically are headed off on some lavish vacation but of course with our new additions getting away is not so easy. This year it is simple - no gifts, no cards, no vacation. I did stop and get some flowers - I always break the no gift rule. Jennifer is fixing a simple meal and we will spend the rest of the night with the babies - the normal routine. Although this might be boring, to most, it is just fine with us. Having a family is something we have wanted for several years and now we have it. No matter what we do, it has to be better than last year. Last year Jennifer was so sick we were in the emergency room. The ER was overcrowded and she was miserable. After 4 hours we finally was seen and they decided to keep her over night. She was extremely dehydrated and threw up everything that headed her way. We did get to finish our anniversary together, but shortly after mid-night I got kicked to the curb - no private rooms. Here's some scanned pictures from our wedding. Sorry the pictures are not the clearest - back in the old days (9yrs ago) we used film, not digital. Kids these days just don't know how easy they got it!

We did go out for Sonic Cream Slushes!!! What a great day!

8 Months Old!

Today the babies are 8 Months old. They have had some recent changes. Charlotte has joined Ellie and Evan and now loves food. Their favorites are: pears, peaches, green beans, and butternut squash. They choose not to eat peas unless mixed with carrots. Evan is the still the biggest - 15lb. Charlotte a pound lighter at 14lb and Ellie at 13lb. They sleep good through the night and take good naps. Charlotte looks like she will be the first one to crawl. Evan was the first to roll over from front to back, but he has now forgotten how and just cries until we move him. Ellie has started to catch up with reaching and grabbing. She also thinks everything is funny - such a giggle box. Evan grins when excited. Charlotte smiles a lot, but usually throws one or both hands into her mouth - so it is tough to get a good picture. They all like to dance but Ellie really gets down. Today they stepped up to a number two diaper and are wearing 3-6 month clothes.

Here's a video from the crew!

Ellie with Eeyore - they have the same hair dresser.

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"

One of the benefits of living in the North Georgia Mountains is an endless ability to escape into some of God's greatest creations. With that being said, lets go to a pumpkin patch. Burt's Pumpkin Farm is about a hour or so away but was well worth the drive. We put the babies in a little red wagon and roamed around looking at some of the biggest pumpkins ever grown. As with most of our adventures two things occur. 1st we become part of the attraction. The triplets were so cute people had to stop and stare as well as steal a few shots with their cameras. We even ran into a family with 7 year old triplet girls. They were really nice and assured us that as the years go by everything gets easier. 2nd we turn every event into picture day. Jenn really likes to get as many shots as she can, but do you know hard it is to get three babies to smile all at one time? Really Hard! Just getting them to look at the camera is a challenge. We have attempted the same shot over 30 times trying to get it right. Never the less, we picked out some good ones to show off. Enjoy!
The Pumpkin Family

As you can see, Pumpkins everywhere!

And of course, Evan!
