I guess it takes being a dad to really appreciate what father's day is all about. As a kid, I know that I showed my dad appreciation but never considered what the day was actually like for him. I can only hope that he was able to feel the love that I did all weekend. Here's one of the last pictures I have of my dad with my nephew, Huck it was the day before Jennifer and I got married.

The father's day weekend started with a Saturday trip out on the town. We went to Buford to eat and do a little shopping. We started with a trip to Olive Garden while there we ate and also had to feed the babies here's a shot at the table.
After a lengthy lunch, we made the rounds doing some shopping. Before we knew it, it was time to feed the babies again - how about Starbucks inside a Target - yeah that works. We were gone most of the day and even though it was hectic at times it was all worth it.
My actual father's day started with an early morning false alarm from Ellie's heart monitor (yes the babies are still on the monitor - might be off soon). I sprinted to the room only to find her sound asleep. But in her bed was a book that I know was not there when we put her to bed. Her book was titled "Daddy's Girl". I finally got to read it to her last night.

After realizing what day it was, I rushed over to Charlotte's bed to see what she had gotten me. It was another book titled "Daddy Hug". She was too snug and asleep to bother, so I waited till morning to give her some love.
A quick check on the boy, and another book "Me and My Dad".

I can't wait to sit up and read them these and other books. They also got me a new picture to hang in my office. It was a compilation of baby pictures made in to a 11x14 poster. The dogs gave me a huge bucket of bubble gum - yum. Here is a shot of me with all three after church.

Granddaddy also celebrated father's day with us. He got a shot with Evan.

It was a wonderful weekend and I am so grateful and blessed. I can't wait for many more years of sharing life with my babies.
