Thursday evening Jennifer and I were discussing our weekend plans. As we were going through all that we had to do we decided to add an additional element to the mix - an overnight trip. We called Jennifer's sister, Lisa, to find out if it would be ok if we all came down Friday night and spent the night. They were ok with our imposing so now add more stuff to the to do list. We had been discussing having a trial run at staying overnight somewhere so this was the perfect opportunity. The trial run was to see #1 if the babies could handle being away from home and #2. if it would be so stressful Jennifer and I would get no enjoyment out of the trip. It took about 2 hours to get everything together that we thought we might need. Most of the time people pack excessively for trips - we only brought what we knew we would need - and it still took 2 hours to pack. 3 pack-in-plays, 3 feeding chairs, clothes, diapers, wipes, food, more food, bottles, formula, water, snacks, choo choo wagon, and don't forget we needed stuff too. I still had to work on Friday so Jennifer was on her own for her portion of the trip. She had planned a hair appointment for Ellie and Evan. Yes, they are big enough to get hair cuts. Ellie's hair was starting to cover her eyes and Evan has had a weird hairdo since it started coming in. Here's some shots.
Ellie Before
Evan After

I didn't get to share in this experience and neither did Charlotte. Here she is sitting and pouting in her car seat. Maybe next time we can get some of that red hair cut.

With that all finished up - Jennifer headed through Athens toward Conyers. The babies slept most of the way, so when we ended up at the Tompkins residence they were ready to eat and play with their cousins. The primary reason for the trip was Victoria's 4 yr birthday party. Here she is opening some presents.
Here's Michelle enjoying her lovable little friends.

Before the birthday party on Saturday we went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Conyers. We became one of the attractions. Everyone would stop and stare and of course ask the usual questions. But here's a visitor we did not expect - Gomer Pyle. He said of course "well golly".

They even got a picture with this clown.
(See the person in the back taking our picture too)

No corn dogs or funnel cakes - maybe next year.
It was a great experience. I think we are ready to take on more overnight adventures.
The weekend was not over yet. Sunday afternoon the babies had their first Easter Egg Hunt. This was held at our church. They had a great time even though they skipped a nap to come. Charlotte even found the prize egg.

God rewarded us for having such a great weekend with this huge rainbow. There was a double rainbow but the other did not come through on the picture.
Have a great week!
