And we're off!!!

Our vacation started at 4 am last Saturday. We figured that we would be better off putting the babies in their car seats and getting some road time in while they were sleeping. It worked! Our first destination was Summerville, SC. I grew up in Summerville and we still have friends down there. The babies slept almost the whole ride. We stopped at a Holiday Inn, slipped into the lobby, and used their microwave to heat up some milk. We feed them in the parking lot and then went to Shoney's to get some breakfast. We did not get to visit all of our friends in Summerville, but were able to see Judy, Angie, and Elsie at Flowertown Florist. Here's a shot of the crew. Another reason we stopped there was so that the babies could see one of my siblings - Specks. He is a Yellownape Amazon Parrot that I grew up with. He relocated back to Summerville a few years ago and lives at the flower shop. He loves all the attention he gets there and the babies were fascinated with him.Time was ticking and we needed to get to Edisto Island. We were staying the first night of our vacation there to attend my cousins wedding. They got married out on the beach and it was really nice but also extremely HOT. Here's a shot of the crew hitting the beach in their wagon. We were able to stay with a college friend and his wife. They live on the island and were nice enough to let us take over the 2nd floor of their home. The babies loved it. The space was wide open and they were amazed at the Boar Head (not deli meat at Publix) that was mounted on the wall. Jessica had to head out to work before we could get a picture but we did get one with Johnny. Thanks again for letting us take over your house.

We loaded back up and had one stop in Charleston - Roper Hospital. Jennifer loved working there and one of her friends was on call and working so we went to see her. Here's a shot with Kathy. Now we are off to Myrtle Beach for a week of fun in the sun!!!

Oh, for those of you who were wondering how you pack to travel with triplets, this is what the truck looked like. I did have a trailer lined up as a back up if everything did not fit but it did.

We Survived Our Vacation!!!

I will have to keep you in suspense - still trying to recover from my vacation and we took a lot of pictures. We did stop by Presbyterian College (that's were I went to school) for a Father's Day Picture and to stretch our legs.
We made it home and I got some snuggle time before the day ended.

Nursery

I thought it was about time, I do a post on their nursery. So here it goes, Jennifer was so sick during her pregnancy she really didn't get to enjoy decorating. That might be a good thing because she didn't go crazy. I know when they move into their own rooms she will make up for it. We have another room that has their changing table and a recliner so this room is just for sleeping.

Here a picture as you walk into the room.
Here is a look at Evan's side with his moose to protect him.
Charlotte & Ellie's side. Jennifer's aunt Gail made the curtains for us.
3 cute little tin signs
Jennifer's mom and dad gave us their bedding. Ellie has purple gingham, Evan has blue gingham and Charlotte has green gingham. We were also blessed with cribs. Evan's crib was his cousins Michelle & Victoria's. The girls have matching cribs that the Lindlers let us borrow.

Our babies are wonderful sleepers and I think it is because of their cozy nursery.

Chompers

I have probably mentioned in the past that we were worried about our babies getting teeth. It just seemed like it took forever. We never went as far as to go to the dentist (is it even possible to go to the dentist if you don't even have teeth?), but we did discuss our concerns with a dentist that goes to our church. His advise was not to worry about it, they will come in when they come in and if they don't we can make them some. Make them some? Baby Dentures? It worried us anyway. As with many parental concerns, the worrying was for nothing. We got teeth - a lot of teeth.

Evan was the first to cut teeth. He started with the bottom two and then the top came rolling in. He now has 6 total.

Charlotte was next. It seemed as if they all hit at the same time. She also has 6 coming in.

Ellie's teeth are taking their sweet little time. She has 1 1/2 on bottom. She likes sticking her tongue out, so I had to help her show them off.

We have been extremely fortunate so far with very limited irritation from teething. They rarely get upset or act as if they are in pain. A couple more teeth and I will start feeding them some steaks!!!
