All Work and No Play?

We took a little work/play trip to Tybee Island last week.  We drove down on Wednesday and Matthew worked at the Savannah store on Thursday.  We had some company too.  My dad, mom, mom's caregiver Sylvia and her son Joseph came too.  Of course when we got there the kids were ready to see the beach.

Thursday morning it was rainy and windy, I had to pull out all my toys and crafts to get them through the morning.
It stopped raining so I got them dress to go out to the beach before lunch.  Of course it started raining again as we walked out the door.  My dad and I still took them and sat in the cold, windy rain while they had so much fun.  We stayed maybe 30 minutes and then came back to the house and got in a warm bath.
After nap time Matthew got home from work and it had cleared up, so back to the beach we went.

They loved playing in the sand
Friday was a beautiful day, but windy.  A great day for kite flying.
Granddaddy & Evan flying a Buzz Lightyear kite
Evan really liked the waves this year.
Charlotte still didn't love the water, but was braver this year.

Ellie is just an active little girl.  She loves to run back and forth.

Friday night we walked down the pier and ate some ice cream.

Evan wasn't happy having to share an ice cream with his sisters.
He was very happy when Granddaddy gave him the rest of his cone.

Saturday morning the kids got a big treat.  Ice cream for breakfast!  We had to clean out the refrigerator and there was still some ice cream bars that we didn't want to throw away.  I don't think they understood that ice cream for breakfast was all that special.

On the way out we stopped by the lighthouse for them to see.
Can you find Ellie, Evan & Charlotte?
It was a fun quick trip.

Memorial Day Weekend 2012

We went camping this past weekend to Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth, GA.  We had a very nice long weekend with lots of activities.
I think this might be the last few rides in the choo-choo wagon.  They are getting pretty big to be pulled.  I'll be very sad when we say bye to the wagon.  If you remember Santa gave it to them on their 1st Christmas.
On Saturday we drove to Acworth for Karis' birthday party.  Lana did such a good job with everything.  It was a very hot morning, but the kids got to ride ponies and pet animals.  Ellie had to ride both ponies.

Evan liked the pony but he really liked petting the animals.

Farmer Evan
He loved feeding the goats and laughed and said it tickled.
Ellie was in heaven.  Here she is on her quest to catch something.

Got It!
She was so proud.

When I cropped this picture I laughed so hard.  Look at Ellie's mouth and look at the white duck's mouth.  Ha! Do you think they were both saying AFLAC!
And if you have been reading this blog for awhile you know what Charlotte probably thought about everything.  She didn't want to have anything to do with the pony.  She hung with me most of the time.
I finally got her to pet the rabbits.
 She really liked them.
She even held it for a second.
Love this prissy girl.
Night time milk after a busy day.
On Sunday Matthew let me sleep in and they went outside to play.  They loved the wall on our campsite.

That day for lunch Granddaddy, Grandmother, Granny & Aunt Gail came up to eat with us.  We had Breakfast for lunch and we all loved it.  That afternoon we went down to the lake.  Boy was it crowded.

We played for awhile until someone spotted something pretty disgusting floating in the water.  Let me just say this momma got her kids out of the water.

This weekend we tested the kids out in the bottom bunks.  They did really well and sleep all night.  They always get up earlier than at home, but I think they liked their new sleeping quarters.  Ellie and Evan slept on one bunk feet to feet.

 Charlotte had the other side.
This little cutie always wakes up first and wakes everyone else up.
Of course when it was time to go home they didn't want to go.  They sure do love camping.

The past few days

We are always up to something.  This past weekend & week was no different.  On Sat. was the 50th annual Mt. Laurel Festival.  It is always the weekend of my birthday so it is something that I have always gone to.  We went to the parade that morning.  The kids' last parade was at Disney World, so they thought we were going to see the characters then ride rides.  I hope they were not too disappointed.

Monday was my birthday.  We grilled out with my parents and had cake.  If you can't see the numbers on the cake it should say 36, but the 6 was turned backward!
Singing to mommy
Tonight was the last night of Puggles.  I don't think they have realized it yet, but when they do they will be really upset.  They LOVE Puggles.  As soon as they get up for their naps on Wednesdays they are raring to go.  They have learned Genesis 1:1, John 3:16 and the first 5 books in the Bible.  They have so much fun with their class and love their teachers.
Everyone in the class got an award based on their personality
Evan got the Barnabas award because he  was an encouragement to his class.
Charlotte got Most Creative because she loves to draw & color.
Ellie got the Sunshine award for her fun loving attitude.

We can't wait for the long holiday weekend.  We have so much fun with these three.

Happy Mother's Day 2012

This is the Mom of the Year and today is her day.  As you can see her award was a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a hand crafted card.

The crazy hat Jennifer is wearing is actually three crowns that the kids made at church.

They were good all day today.  They all woke up in great moods and got ready for church.  After church we went to eat lunch at the Attic.  It is a nice restaurant and not a place we would typically go, but that's what Jennifer wanted.  They were perfect little angels.  They were quite. They ate.  They were patient.  They really showed how much they loved their Mommy.

Here's the gang ending the night hanging out on the couch.
From Ellie, Evan, and Charlotte - WE LOVE YOU MOMMY!
