Big Kids

A lot has changed since turning 4.  They had to go to the doctor for their check-ups and get 4 shots!  That's a lot for mommy & daddy, so they each went one by one.  Daddy took Evan because mommy didn't think she could hold him down for 4 shots.  He did okay for the 1st shot then he was mad and ended up knocking one of them out so he had to get stuck 5 times.  Here are his stats so we won't forget them.  Height - 41 1/4 in (75%) and weight - 33.8 lbs (15%)
Ellie was the next day.  She was dreading the shots since she saw all Evan's boo-boos.  She started shaking as soon as the nurse came back in.  Poor thing.  Her height - 41 7/8 in (90%) and weight - 31.4 lbs (20%)
Charlotte was last to go.  She did pretty good with the shots.  She cried for the last 3, but overall didn't do too bad.  Here are her stats height - 40 1/8 in (55%) and weight - 30.6 lbs (15%).
They all got 4 prizes out of the treasure box at the doctor's office for their pain & suffering.

The Sunday after their birthday they got to move up to Children's church.  No more nursery for these kids.

Victoria was in town, so she was in there with them for their 1st time.
Charlotte was happy because Sydney was in there
Evan being a big boy.
Feb. 25th was their last night in their cribs.  Yes you read that right.  They loved their cribs and this mommy loves her sleep.  They always slept great and I think they liked their own space.  I was a little worried their sleeping habits would change once they got out of the cribs.  We decided to take them down before we left for Orlando, so that when we got back they would be gone.  For a few months I had been getting them up around midnight to go potty, so these are some pictures from their last night in the crib when I got them up.

Matthew didn't have to put the cribs together, but he did have some helpers taking them apart.
I'm going to miss this view.  I think mommy had a harder time with the transition.
We talked about it a lot and they each got new stuff for their rooms.  When we got back from Orlando on March 8th they got to sleep in their big kid beds. Everyone had a new pillow pet and dream light when we got home.  Ellie was probably the most excited.  She had said months before she was a big girl and needed her new bed.
Evan has the most issues with change, so it took him about 5 nights to get use to it. Now he is such a big boy and loves his bed.
This little girl loves her big bed and sleeps so good in it.
They have done really well with their new beds and separate rooms.  I know they miss having each other, but they like their own space too.  When they were still in the same room they had stopped napping around February because they were hooping it up.  Now sometimes they fall asleep and sometimes they just play in their rooms.  Overall it has been a good change.  I will always miss going in that room and seeing all those cribs and little babies, but they are growing up on me.

More Easter Fun

The Sunday before Easter we went to the Toddlers egg hunt at church.  These cuties were ready for the hunt.  It had rained the night before so it was yucky outside, but they didn't care that they had to hunt them inside.

Evan won the boy prize for the most eggs.  He was the only boy, so I guess that still counts!
The Saturday before Easter we went to Unicoi State Park for their Easter egg hunt.  We went to this one in 2011 when Ellie was obsessed with the Easter bunny.

Ellie got a prize egg and won this cup.
The Easter bunny has delivered the goodies.

So excited for his new Woody toy.
She got a new Chihuahua
She got her own Chihuahua too!
After lunch & a visit to Naw's we stopped at Grandmother & Granddaddy's for an egg hunt.  It had started sprinkling, so we had another inside egg hunt.  Granddaddy put some money in the eggs and they were off.

Charlotte found the Prize egg in grandmother's chair.

The kids really understood the Easter story this year and constantly talks about Jesus and the cross and then coming back to life.  We made Resurrection Rolls for a treat and they really enjoyed it.  When they opened it up and the marshmallow was gone they were a little upset, but once we told them it was just like Jesus they understood and was happy he was alive.  We just hope and pray they are always so excited about Jesus!

The Rest of the Story

I never finished posting all the pictures from our Orlando trip.  After we did Magic Kingdom on that Sunday, Matthew worked the rest of the week.  The kids and I just stayed at the campground and played.  There were 4 different playground at the campground, so we would just go and play at one until we got bored then go to the next one.

We usually did some school work, like writing our letters and numbers.

When daddy would get home we would eat and then do something fun.  One night we went and got our yummy Dole Whip at the Polynesian.  Then watched the Water Parade from the campground marina.  The Water Parade came by every night at 9:45 and we could hear the music all the way to our camper.  The first night we didn't know what in the world it was.  We were so scared it was going to wake them up, but it never did.

Another night we ate at my favorite - Uno Chicago Grill!  Evan loves their pepperoni and broccoli deep dish pizza.  We went to Downtown Disney so they could buy some souvenirs with their birthday money from Naw.  We made them wait until the end of the trip to pick their presents.

They wanted to go back to the campfire so they could see Dale this time around.
 Here he is.

And this is what we looked like most of the week.  Mom and her three little mouseketeers.
