Camping in Myrtle Beach - Part 1

Since the moment we got back from the beach in 2012 the kids have been talking about Sandy's.  They loved camping at Ocean Lakes last year, so they were super excited when the time rolled around to go back.

 We got to Myrtle Beach on Labor Day and for the first dinner out we headed to eat some seafood at Dirty Don's.

The first full day at MB we split up.  Charlotte for some reason didn't want to go swimming.  So after lunch Matthew, Ellie & Evan went to the pool and I took Charlotte shopping.  She was in her element!  

The next day we went to the beach in the morning and after lunch we finally got Charlotte to go to the pool.

These two loved just playing in the sand and in the background you can see Ellie & daddy in the ocean.

Charlotte did venture out a little bit.

Evan just loves the sand.

 Ellie did enjoy some sand time too.

I don't know what made Charlotte scared to get in the big pool, but she played in the kiddie area just fine.

 Ellie is such a people person she found friends at the pool and was having a ball.

Charlotte finally got in the big pool, but had a tight hold on daddy the whole time.  

After all that swimming we ate a big dinner including "Crab feet"!

The Low Country

The Thursday before Labor Day we left for a 10 night trip in the camper.  We loaded up the truck and headed to Charleston to stay at James Island County Park.  We lived in Charleston the first 3 years of our marriage and boy have we forgotten how hot and humid it was there.  

Friday we headed over to Edisto Island to see Matthew's cousin that was vacationing.  We played on the beach with Candy and her family for a few hours.

We even got to meet the newest cousin, Kathleen.  

On the way back to the camper we drove by our 1st house and then ate our favorite BBQ.  The kids were fans of the food too.  I wish I had some now!

On Saturday we headed to the water park at the campground.  

Charlotte was so excited about the slides.  We knew she would chicken out, so that was the first thing we did.  Matthew took her and when she got to the bottom she was like "I didn't like that", so she stayed in the kiddie pool the rest of the day.  

Ellie & Evan were another story.  We had to take turns taking them down the slides.  

That night we tie dyed shirts at the park.  

They loved riding their scooters around the campground.

Sunday we headed to downtown Charleston for some shopping and sightseeing.    

 Evan bought us girls some sweet grass roses at the market.

 We met up with Kathy that I use to work with later that night.  It had been 3 years since we had seen her.  

 While Matthew was getting the camper ready to leave we went to the splash park for some fun.

They had this huge playground that we played on for awhile.

Next stop - Myrtle Beach

Dancing girls

Today my two little girls got to dress up like ballerinas and go to their first ballet/tap class.  

 They ended up being the only two in the class today, but there are two more that are suppose to be in the class. 

 They had a good time and we had to get a picture in their new tap shoes.  

This little boy wanted to get in a picture too.  He is ready for soccer to start.
