Camping in Cherokee

We love our annual camping trip in October.  We picked the kids up early and headed to Cherokee.  They love camping, but love our camping companions - Terry, Terri & Marley.

Saturday morning they colored for the coloring contest.
We went for a hike in the woods.

After lunch we carved pumpkins.  They were not fans of the pumpkin guts.
The kids took turns reading to Terri.

Next up was trick or treating.
Of course it was a family affair.  Toy Story!

They love getting candy then coming back and giving out candy to everyone.

Evan won 1st place in their age category.
These two tried to be good sports about not winning.

Before we left on Sunday we went elk looking.  No elk, but a beautiful day.

1st Field Trip

On Oct. 30th the two kindergarten classes went on a field trip.  I got to ride the bus with them.  It was their first ride on a school bus, so they were super excited.

We went to Hillside Orchard Farms in Tiger, GA.  The first thing we did was ride a hayride around to feed some goats.
Mrs. Ferguson's class
They each got to pick a tiny pumpkin and go gem mining.

We had a picnic lunch by the corn field.
Their favorite part was getting to play on the playground for while.  It was a nice sunny day.

Fall Break Fun

In October the kids had a few days off.  On Oct. 10th we went to Philips Arena to see Disney on Ice - Frozen.

It was a really good show.  I think probably the best one.
We decided to stay in a hotel to make it feel like more of a vacation.  On Saturday before checking out they went swimming.

Instead of going home we decided to go to Six Flags.

They had fun riding rides and even got to trick or treat a little.  It was a fun few days away from home.
