Look who's walking

Evan has earned his walking shoes. He really has not been trying to walk this past week, but last night he just GOT it. He was standing, holding a book and he took 2 steps and Jennifer said to me "Look at Evan". He turned and smiled at her and then took 6 more steps. Today he has been walking off and on. It didn't take him long to get the hang of it. He is so proud of himself and so are we!

Breakfast for Dinner

Although it can be difficult, we love getting out and going to eat. We thought this would be one of our guilty pleasures that would end after having babies. But guess what, they love it too. They eat better when out and about than at home. Jennifer thinks it is her cooking, but she is a great cook. I think they just enjoy getting out and experiencing new things. This was a spur of the moment meeting in Gainesville. Jennifer called and said that Evan and Ellie took long AM naps and probably would not take a afternoon nap so she decided to throw them in the car and head out for a ride. It just so happened that timing was right for us to meet up for some shopping and dinner. We decided to venture away from Po Folk (they love that place) and head to IHOP to get some pancakes. We got an added bonus with we found out that kids eat free!!! The babies got some pancakes, grits, and eggs. Here's some pictures...

Time flies when you are having fun

Today celebrates 1 year of having our girls home. The week between Evan coming home and the girls coming home was one of the toughest. We are glad it only lasted for six days.

Ellie ready to go home

Charlotte ready to roll

And look at them now

What a year!

One step, Two step, Three step . . . TEN?

We have been patiently waiting for the first baby to give us some real steps. Which would take the title of "First to walk"? Ellie takes the title! She has been giving us the one and two step fall routine for a couple weeks. She loves to stand. We have caught her standing through almost a whole episode of Sesame Street. But now she walks! We have seen her take as many as 17 steps (yes we count each one of the them), but in the attached video she gets up to ten.

Who will be next? Probably Evan. In the last week, he has just started the two step fall routine. Charlotte, even though she was first to crawl, has absolutely no interest in walking. She will navigate around anything she can hold onto, but letting go - she will not.

Let the fun of catching up with WALKING babies begin!!!
