PT & Braces

When we had their 5 year check-up I mentioned that Evan still walked on his tippy toes.  The doctor set him up to have a PT evaluation.  We started physical therapy in April.  It was a combination of a habit and his muscles & tendons were too tight.  He loved his therapist Jennifer & had fun playing games with her.  He did not like the stretching!

In June she had us get braces for him to wear to keep him from getting up on his toes.
He had to get a mold made of his feet and pick out his pattern for his braces.
In July he got his cool snake skin custom AFO braces.

After his appointment we treated him and the girls to ice cream.
He wears his braces most of the day and then sleeps in them too.  He had weekly PT for a few month, but was discharged from PT in September.  He still has to wear his braces for awhile longer.  We are so proud of him for wearing them and not complaining.

Cheer Camp

The girls went to the Raider's Cheer Camp this year.  It was a half day camp for 3 days.  On the last day they had a little performance.  They were so cute doing their dance.

Then in August before the first scrimmage they did another performance at the Raider stadium.

Watching our girls cheer!
This is a shot of all the cheerleaders from our church.

Our new family member

One day in June we went to get our hair cut and when we came out the kids saw this little kitten.  I went back in and ask Deane did she have a new kitten.  She asked if I wanted to take it home.  I said no, but sent Matthew this picture and said I'm bringing her home.  Matthew is allergic to cats so I was just kidding.  He texted back later and said okay.  I thought he was kidding, but he said I could really bring her home.  I called Deane and told her I would come and get her the next day.
Meet Fiona

The kids love her so much.
Zona not so much.  That was one of the reasons we haven't gotten a cat earlier.  Zona will kill her so we've had to make sure they don't see each other much.
She is a really sweet kitten.  She lets them just pick her up and carry her and treat her like a baby.
Charlotte likes her, but still won't carry her.
She is growing so fast and such a fun addition to the family.
She is also a great bug and creature catcher.
Every night after the kids go to bed I go outside and sit with her.  I think we both love each other.

Evan's Special Day 2014

The next weekend was Evan's special day.  He wanted to ride go karts so we went to Funopolis to play.
 We played lots of games

and won some tickets

Then we headed outside.  They had go karts that he could drive by himself.  He had lots of fun doing that.

Then he was ready for the big boy carts.
He loved every minute.  Him & daddy won!
After working up a sweat we headed to Outback for some steaks.
 One happy boy!
After lunch he wanted to go to Build a Bear.  He wanted his own since the girls got one last year.
He picked out a camo bear.
 Giving Jack a bath.

Of course he got his bear a Captain American outfit.
Then he took him on a ride on the carousel.
When he got home the first thing he did was get his costume on too.
Then everyone had to get their Build a bears and costumes on to match.
It was a "Super" day
