Let's start a new week!

Parents have access to the NICU 22 hrs a day. You are only kicked out during shift change 6:30-7:30 am and pm. Since I pass right by the Hospital on my way to work, I decided to stop by and check in on the trio. I timed it just about right (7:28 am). Still no access but I am standing with other anxious parents like we were black Friday shopping for door busters. 7:31 doors open - time to scrub and luv. Quick check in with nurses and they all had a good night. I made my rounds - gave them all words of encouragement - little luv and out the door.

Jennifer's parents brought her down around 2pm. She called and gave me the latest news. Ellie has been eating good and is on a low vent level. Evan is on a nasal cannula - which allows us to see more of his face.

She then got to kangaroo Evan.

Charlotte was also having a great day - she got off her vent and has increased her feeds to 2cc every 4 hrs. Jennifer then got to hold her for the first time.

We also got a shot with the two grandmothers!!!

And of course I had to make a family moment.

Before we left for the night I got to do a "hands on" with Ellie. Jennifer wished a big poop diaper on me and I surely got it. This was the 2nd time I have changed a little girl poopie diaper. The first was my niece Jonie (it was horrible and I vowed never to do it again - Huck (nephew) laughed so hard I think he pee'd his pants.) Little Ellie was not as bad from a smell point of view but it was a bigone but I passed with flying colors.
I can't wait to see what memories will be created tomorrow!
