For those readers that are not smith clan - I will try to explain the Smith Toe. For the family, I hope I do not cause any embarrassment or humiliation - wait - I really don't care - you gave me the toe! The Smith Toe is simple - A cross between Fred Flintstone (size and shape) and a three toed sloth (nail description) - needless to say it is not a pretty site. Urban legend has it that the person that invented Crocs was either a person that had smith toe or was married to someone with smith toe. We have been banned for years from going barefoot or wearing flip flops in public - Crocs were a perfect solution. Jennifer's nine year old niece (Michelle) will tell anyone the thing she fears the most is My Feet - and yes I do torture her with them. We even called her on day 2 to let her know that we thought the babies were going to be lucky enough to avoid the Smith Toe - but I think the tide has turned. It is almost daily we examine the feet of our children with hope that they get this quality from the DeMore side (Jennifer has pretty feet). But for this question I must leave it up to the experts: Vivian, Jan, Eileen, Terry, Donna and Johny - IS THIS SMITH TOE?

Jennifer said that I had to put a picture of my foot on for everyone to see. A current picture might cause everyone to lose their lunch - so here's one from a trip - we had just gotten pedicures. 
Smith Toe or not! God has blessed us with thirty little toes and we love everyone of them.
This made me LOL! I'm not a Smith, but I have a stubby big toe too... it's not a fault... its... a cute "turtle toe" is what someone has told me I had before... hahaha.

ReplyDeleteThere is hope Matt! There are those of use further down the Smith line who didn't inherit it, and I had it coming from both sides...love my mom and dad, but they have quite unsightly toes....
ReplyDeleteWell, Matt. you have just aired the Smith dark skelton. Not just out of the closet but all over cyber space. Do you remember what my toes look like? They are actually the best of the clan. BUT, I must confess, I did have some surgery done to my big toes a few years ago. I am afraid that is the only cure for the 'toe curse'. But I don't think you have anything to worry about those look more like DeMoore toes than Smith's. But I do want to claim the red hair for the Smith's.
