Tummy Time

Sorry for no Blog yesterday! We were in the ER with Jennifer. She got a real bad headache mid-morning. We came home from church, she took some meds, got in bed, and nothing - no relief. We waited a couple hours and still no change. Called the doctor and he wanted her to go to the ER. We headed to the hospital - peaked in on the babies (all was good) and then went up the a very crowded ER. We were in the middle of a snow/ice storm and there was several accident victims awaiting treatment. All-in-all we were there 4 hrs - she did get treatment, a CT scan and finally some relief. CT scan did not show anything (not even a brain - just kidding). She is feeling better but still has minor headaches.

So now for Tummy Time!

Before reading this please note: You should never put a newborn baby to sleep on his/her tummy. It increases the risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).

But in the NICU - they can get all the tummy time they want. They are monitored constantly so no risk of SIDS. And that is good because they love to sleep on their tummies. Here are some pictures.

Here's Charlotte napping hard on her tummy!

Here's Little Ellie Belly on her Belly

Here's Evan sneaking a peak as he gets his picture taken.

We also got a shot of Ellie sucking her thumb.

She and Charlotte have not been interested in pacifiers yet - but Evan loves his. The nurses have to take it away - sometimes - he has not figured out how to suck and breath at the same time.
They are all doing great. Breathing and eating. Charlotte is off of IV food and is on just mommy juice. Evan and Ellie will be catching up with her soon. Jennifer got to hold the ladies today and I got to hang with Evan. I guess we will switch it up tomorrow.

  1. Guess I was just lucky with all my babies, they all slept on their tummies. But you must be careful I know. It is so wonderful as I see these precious babies filling out day by day. Love and Prayers, Aunt Jan

PS. Jenn, hope the headaches ease off quick.
